Fran Reed Jr. Vice President In January 2010 Ladies Auxiliary Post #2621 lost one of our oldest and dearest members. Fran was part of our auxiliary for 42 years. Over the years she held every office , President, Vice Pres., Jr. Vice, etc. I was told she went through all of the chairs several times over the years. She was a wonderful caring person and showed it in numerous ways. She was a volunteer at St. Clairs and Mt. Carmel Schools she made lap robes for the veterans at Loch Raven and the VA Hospital on Greene Street. She made hats and blankets for the NICU at Bay view Hospital. She worked the children's Easter, Halloween and Christmas parties. She worked the flower wheel, the kitchen or where ever she was needed for all of our fund raisers. She was a mentor to most of us helping when and where ever needed. She was knowledgeable about anything pertaining to the ritual always ready to correct us when we made a mistake. Fran always made sure we went by the book. She was also very concerned about saving everything (from paperclips to scrap pieces of paper) She felt they could always be used for another project. She loved making things with the Buddy Poppies. Fran was a important part of Ladies Auxiliary post #2621 and she will be dearly missed at every meeting, event & Party. She was more than just a member, She was a friend. Have any thoughts or memories of Fran? Email them to President@ladiesauxpost2621.com and we will post them on our Memorial page. I only met Fran a few times at the Children's party's but she was always helpful and kind. She was always sure to ask how me and my family were doing. I am not sure if she even knew my name, but she knew that I was Nancy's Daughter-in-law. The last time I saw Fran was at the Halloween Party. She asked me if I could make her a pillow with pictures of her grandchildren on it, She wanted to give it as a gift to her daughter. Unfortunately by the time I finished it and gave it to Nancy to give to her she was in the hospital. We held onto the pillow in the hopes that she would be coming back. Unfortunately this was not the case. Nancy gave the pillow to her daughter at her viewing. I really wish she would have gotten to see it, and give it to her daughter herself. She was definitely very proud of her family. Christy Adkins
